GLP-1 S is a 31-amino-acid analog of human GLP-1(7-37) with two substitutions (Aib8, Arg34) and a C18 diacid attached through a linker at Lys26. The Aib8 substitution blocks DPP-4 cleavage and the fatty-diacid side chain confers high albumin affinity.
Its design and in-vitro receptor characterization, including a GLP-1 receptor affinity of about 0.4 nM measured in cell lines, are described in the Novo Nordisk discovery paper by Lau and colleagues. It is used as a reference agonist in GLP-1 receptor binding, cAMP, and receptor-trafficking assays.
Supplied as lyophilized powder, 10 mg per vial. Store sealed vials at 2–8 °C for short-term holding and at −20 °C for long-term storage, protected from light and moisture.
