NAD+ (β-nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, oxidized form) is the universal redox coenzyme of living cells and the co-substrate of sirtuins, PARPs, and CD38.
The pathways that regulate cellular NAD+ and its roles in redox chemistry and enzyme signaling are reviewed by Verdin. Research-grade NAD+ is used as an enzyme co-substrate, an assay standard, and a reagent in dehydrogenase, sirtuin, and PARP studies.
