GHK-Cu is the copper(II) complex of the tripeptide glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine, a naturally occurring peptide first isolated from human plasma. The peptide binds Cu(II) with high affinity, and the chelate is the form used in most cell-culture work.
In vitro and animal studies have examined GHK and GHK-Cu for effects on gene expression, antioxidant enzyme activity, and tissue-remodeling pathways; Dou and colleagues review the experimental evidence and the assay systems in which it was generated.
Supplied as lyophilized powder, 50 mg per vial. Store sealed vials at 2–8 °C for short-term holding and at −20 °C for long-term storage, protected from light and moisture.
